late post again... my computer broke down...
On Tuesday last week we learned how to overlay the barracuda on the edge of the circle so it rotates on its tale instead of its center of its body. After that, the barracuda looked actually like a second hand of a clock!! Also, when the barracuda was pointing down the barracuda stopped rotating and produced an image stop. I actually do not know how stop sign pops up when barracuda points down. I think it is produced from this function:
(define (key-press im k)
(cond
[(equal? k "down") (stop-with STOP)]
[else im]))
but still, i think i have to study more to figure out how this function works.
On Thursday of that week, we learned about binary numbers. I have seen and heard about binary numbers but never used them or convert from binary numbers to the number in ten base or the other way around. It was very interesting how all the numbers that we commonly use, could be turned into number 1s and 0s and represent same meaning. We learned how to add and subtract using binary numbers. I practiced more on subtract and add binary numbers on my own time. However, i am really not used to using the binary numbers and again, i need more practice using it. This week is reading week and i am planning to work on Wikipedia and try to finish the second part of the assignment before i go to school again.

Totally forgot
I totally forgot to write a blog for last week because it was just after the test. However, i really have nothing to write about because last Tuesday i could not attend lecture because i was extremely sick. Also we just had a test. The test was a bit harder than i thought. Therefore, i really think i should try harder to obtain higher marks!

upcoming works
the time has passed so that the university
is starting to evaluate how much I have learned from the start of the semester.
However for the past week, I was not feeling well and could not even manage to
finish majority of the assignments and readings for all of my courses. I need
to work extra hard this weekend to catch up.
This week in computer science class, I
learned about how to devise functions from DrRacket to produce a picture in
motion. The key function was called "on-tick". This produces consecutive
images that are different from the previous image at certain time interval. Professor
produced a second hand using a picture of barracuda as an example. He devised
functions in DrRacket so barracuda could rotate 360/60 degrees every second.
Also, earlier this week, professor extended further about the history of
computers.
Furthermore, The deadlines for Wikipedia has
been posted on csc104 website. I am really worried how I would manage to make a
significant contribution to Wikipedia. Hopefully I will be able to finish the
assignment.
